Bumble Bee Screenprint

The bumble bee is an important pollinator. They are social insects that live in colonies and they feed on flower nectar. The genus name for bumble bees, bombus, means drone, buzz or hum or to move ineptly or flounderingly. It’s these characteristics that make a bumble bee a curious and welcome sign of spring.
This bumblebee is paired with lavender, a longtime queer signifier and a plant of medicinal importance with many uses.
